About Oak Ridge, TN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
In eastern Tennessee is a city known as the City of Oak Ridge. It is located about 25 miles west of downtown Knoxville and positioned along the banks of Clinch River. The boundaries of Oak Ridge stretch into Anderson and Roane counties. According to the United States Census Bureau, Oak Ridge was home to almost 30,000 people in 2016. Oak Ridge is the largest city in Anderson County.
Oak Ridge has a unique and intriguing past. In 1942, the U.S. Government purchased rural farmland that would serve as one of the three Manhattan Project sites. The project site was constructed to produce the world’s first atomic bombs. During World War II, the City of Oak Ridge served as a type of cloak to hide the reality of what was happening from the enemy. Two years after the city was constructed, its population jumped to 75,000. Although it is no longer a booming city, Oak Ridge remains one of the most unique and charming cities in Tennessee.
It is necessary for Oak Ridge residents to have cooling and heating systems installed in their homes. The city is located in a region of the United States that experiences warm, humid summers and cool winters. During the months of June, July, and August, daytime temperature highs average in the mid-80s. The month of July is the warmest month on average and it also receives the most precipitation of any month. Professional HVAC technicians recommend all residents of Oak Ridge have systems like central air conditioning units installed in their homes. During the summer months, the systems help residents stay cool and comfortable indoors.
In addition to cooling systems, HVAC technicians recommend residents have heating units installed in their homes. Daytime temperatures range from the lower to upper-40s during the winter months and dip below freezing at night. Also, snowfall is possible. When properly installed, heating systems protect residents and their homes from potential damages caused by harsh winter weather conditions.
